Arawn was a Celtic fairy god, who rules over the kingdom of Annwn, which is either part of the Underworld or Otherworld. He is also the god of the dead, war, revenge and terror.

Arawn was an ally to Pwyll, a legendary Human hero from Welsh mythology, with the hero helping the king overthrow the kingdom of Hafgan, a rival fairy. Arawn was grateful for Pwyll, and send Rhiannon as a potential wife to the hero.
