According to the ancient Egyptians, Atum is thought to be a primeval god and a facet of the Sun God Ra during the afternoon. Based on the etymology of his name, many believed him to be a destruction god, prophesied to return the world to watery chaos at the end of the creative cycle.

History[]

Atum was birthed from the primordial waters of Nun during the creation of the universe. Atum joined in to help with this creation. After the universe was finished, he was subsumed into the sun god Ra, and from that point on would be used as a human avatar of the deity.

During the end of the world, Atum would separate himself from Ra and have everything subsumed by Nun except for him and the god Osiris. They would then prepare for the coming final apocalypse.
