Azathoth.

Azathoth, also known as the Lovecraftian Primordial God, the Nuclear Sultan, Chaotic Shadow Twin of God, and The All-Seeing Horror, is the primordial Outer God who exists as the embodiment of madness, chaos, disorder, and boundlessness, being the ultimate enemy of Creation, the supreme antithesis of order and peace. He is the anti-God who in the end times upon His awakening will destroy all of creation.

Azathoth is the incarnation of madness itself, representing all elements, aspects, concepts and ideas under the category of chaos and disorder. The Primordial Chaos become the outer god who rules the darkness and evil, becoming the creator of the Old Ones.

Azathoth is one of the original members of the Three Great Gods, which means he is one of the most powerful entities in all of existence, rivaling the Reverent God Himself, and the Abyss of Khaos.

Azathoth is currently in eternal slumber, slumbering deep in the Outerverse, with all beings - including the Old Ones themselves - wanting Him to remain slumbering forever. It is said that the day Azathoth awakens will return the world to its primordial state of absolute zero, the primordial chaos that is Azathoth.

Overview

Azathoth is chaos, that which contains all things in a latent, unmanifest state. We can say that before manifestation, Chaos keeps things in a latency that is only one degree from non-existence. It is the abyss from which all things originate, where they will return at the end of their age. Azathoth is the most intense form of existence, pure being, unbounded by form or reaction; but this existence belongs to a different type from the one we are used to, appearing, therefore, as non-existence, because it does not match any of the requirements which in our view determine existence.

Azathoth is a cosmic, limitless deity of multiversal proportions and the great and all-powerful ruler of the Old Ones. He is omnipotent and beyond the power of the Great Old Ones such as Cthulhu, and even their most direct descendants as Outer Gods, including Yog-Sothoth, as well as all other beings throughout the multiverse.

Among extraterrestrial nations, Azathoth was worshiped by alien races who were known to be infinitely more cruel and bloodthirsty than Earthlings. His followers worshiped him as their god and tried several times to invoke Azathoth, with once they succeeded, with the result that Azathoth destroyed the entire planet along with the rest of the Solar System. The manifestation of Azathoth turned out to be so massive that millions of stars began to orbit Azathoth, with this manifestation of the Sultan being known as Tonantzintla 618 or Ton-618.

Being the creator of the old ones (mainly the outer gods), he is been feared, yet revered greatly by his children, servants, and those worships him. The Great Old Ones and Outer Gods are trying to awaken Azathoth again.

Appearance

There can be no definitive or true description of Azathoth because everyone sees him differently and he is always changing with the beholder, an effect that also occurs with God. When interacting with humanity, Azathoth primarily takes the form of a wizened old man with flowing black robes and two horns on His head. His eyes are described as guarding within all the secrets of existence and nonexistence, gleaming aggressively with godlike power compared to none. His voice is said to be real and thunderous, with words demanding the fear and awe of those around him.

When seen by Carl Black in the Outerverse, he appeared as a gigantic eldritch monster full of tentacles, with worms and insects constantly eating and feeding on the putrid flesh of Azathoth, which is infinite and always regenerating, providing endless food for parasites.

One of Azathoth's manifestations in creation has been described as a colossal singularity engulfing everything around it, from planets, stars and even solar systems as large as Earth's, swallowing even the light itself. Its mass had been estimated to be 66 billion times more massive than the sun, that is, more massive than the Triangulum Galaxy itself, with a light as bright as 140 trillion suns. However, due to the enormous distance between this manifestation of Azathoth and the Earth, its size could be much larger, Earth scientists called this manifestation of Nuclear Chaos "Ton-618".

When making his appearance in H.P. Lovecraft's vision, Azathoth looked like a giant humanoid figure made entirely of faceless flesh and bones. Azathoth is described by Randolph Carter as reminiscent of Jupiter's surface with countless spiraling spots overlapping over one another.

Personality

Obedient son? Honestly, I hate this guy with all my might. I hate him so much that when I punched his ugly, bearded face, I for the first time in my eternal life felt anything close to "happiness." Azathoth is despised among the Outer Gods and by any other entity in the Megaverse. Anything that says it have a devotion to Azathoth is because it have a very distorted view of him. Think of all the evil on Earth, every rape, murder, torture, violence, assault, betrayal, falsehood and evil. You thought? For know, son of God, that the source and origin of all this evil is Azathoth.

It is still unknown what is his true personality, and is been yet to be revealed. Being imprisoned for countless billion years since the time of the war of creation, his mind has been damage for many years of imprisonment through the void of the Outerverse. It is revealed than he is the complete opposite and the true shadow of God, and the physical and madness manifestation and counter part of Khaos. He is also known for being the first living embodiment of megalomania, malevolence, evil, darkness, chaos, destruction, etc. He is considered even more dangerous and homicidal than Ayin herself.

It is not possible to have an exact description of Azathoth's personality, after all he is an unconscious entity eternally, without showing any emotion or feeling. However, the few emotions that the Sultan is able to show demonstrate a little how terrible the real Azathoth is. The Chaos God is a totally impersonal and amoral entity, not caring about anything or anyone, not feeling empathy even for his children or consort, seeing them only as insignificant rats that are part of him, something he hates and despises. Deep down, Azathoth is sadistic and willing to kill or sacrifice anything or anyone for his own amusement. He treats his avatar Māna-Yood-Sushāī like trash when it fails to get worthwhile results.

Of all the entities in Creation, the being that Azathoth hates the most is, without a shadow of a doubt, God, with his greatest desire being to bring all creation to its primordial state of absolute nothingness from which according to Azathoth it should never have left. Azathoth's hatred is so great that it is considered to be worse than Ayin, who is the personification of evil, but the evil that is essential, the evil that God uses to bring balance to the world, while Azathoth is the mad evil, the evil without purpose or aim, other than to harm everything around him even if it costs himself to harm himself.

Because of this, it is believed that the only entity Azathoth hates almost as much as he hates God is himself, with his ultimate goal being in the End Times to take every human, angel, demon, nephilim, yokai, tulpa, divinity, aeon, old one, primordial, pre-existential and finally, himself, to the state of Absolute Zero and Non-Existence in which the world was in its most primitive and basic state. Azathoth will kill everyone at the end of it all, and he will kill himself to return himself to nothingness. Nyarlathotep mentions that Azathoth is an ontological force, that as God is the deity of love and kindness, Azathoth is the Old One of hate and evil, with his purpose being to destroy everything that exists, including himself. The Creeping Chaos goes on to say that this has happened many times, probably thousands of times, and nothing has ever changed and will never change, and that is a law that even God and Azathoth obey, the law of cycles.

Powers and Abilities

Azathoth is technically the evil counterpart of "God" and additionally He is the "Blind Idiot God", who is absolutely ignorant and stupid, yet is omnipotent and is one of the most powerful beings in all of Creation. It is said that on the day the Sultan wakes up, all existence will be annihilated by Him, including his own race. Azathoth cannot be destroyed or killed because it exists beyond the concept of death and non-existence, making it impossible to kill it forever, because like the other Pre-existentials, Azathoth will always come back to being. Despite being considered irrational and animalistic, Azathoth has a will of His own and commands His messenger and son, Nyarlathotep, to do works in His name by expressing any kind of chaotic or corrupt sentiments.

He is eternity, which is beyond the wheel of time, not only exists, but is existence itself. Eternal dreaming and eternal awakening, nothing that was born prevails, except what has always prevailed. He is his own cause. What could give rise to such horror and such infinite power? Being the origin and cause of all other things he himself cannot have one and causality is a pawn in his "hands" which he plays without knowing why. He is perfect. The perfect is not desirable, the perfect is completeness, it is neither good nor beautiful, for our concepts and values ​​it would be horrendous and evil, and seeming to us more like the devil than the anthropomorphic god who we created it we would reject it, but it is the truth and our father, regardless of our so limited relativization. Being chaos it contains everything in itself and does not need anything else, nor can it acquire anything, it lacks nothing, except perhaps its own consciousness.

Despite being pure power, without limits, Azathoth is poor in conscience, being himself incapable of dealing with himself and the accident for which he is responsible, which is part of this unnecessary floating sphere that we affectionately call home. Referred to as "Idiot God" Azathoth carries this nickname not because he has a backward intellect, which would be impossible, but because he is completely unconscious, needing messengers and servants to satisfy his desires that he manages to manifest.

  • Megaversal Omnipotence: Azathoth is an entity of unlimited powers and no barriers for what he can or cannot do, his power level rivals that of the God himself and Khaos, narrowly surpassing those of Ayin, the Anti-God. Azathoth is the supreme god of Lovecraftian myths, being the supreme archetype that precedes all things, being ineffable, existing in silence and immobile, separate from all things of creation, encompassing everything and everyone within his being, including the Outer Gods and The One-In-All, with them being just an infinitesimal fraction of Azathoth himself. He is eternity, which is beyond the wheel of time, not only existed but existence itself. Eternal dreaming and eternal awakening, nothing that was born prevails, except what has always prevailed. He is his own cause. It is the creator, the sultan who governs everything beyond the infinite archetypes. His influence is such that it surpasses that of his children. Everything Yog-Sothoth represents is nothing in your perspective, and all the Outer Gods are nothing but servants and bacterium compared to such power.
    • Omnipotence Embodiment: Similar to Khaos and God, Azathoth is the own omnipotence, the supreme being and the source of everything. Azathoth is the true master and wielder of any and every other power that is deemed omnipotent. Being Omnipotence incarnate, Azathoth is fully devoid of any potential weakness, the power can never be cut off or stolen, nor it's use can be disturbed, and backfired or turned against the user.
    • Autopotence: Azathoth is all-powerful over himself, including his own existence. He can make their existence ineffable and defiant of all laws and logic, also rewriting himself on absolutely all levels, including structure, origin, conclusion, and many more. With absolute control over himself, Azathoth can do essentially anything as long as it stems from their own existence, like granting oneself all powers/abilities, becoming one with everything, attaining true perfection, etc.
    • Metapotence: Azathoth possesses an unfathomable power, far beyond any reason, logic and understanding. Azathoth can do whatever he wants, whenever he wants, however he wants, allowing him to achieve anything and everything without limit, no matter how impossible or contradictory, completely overriding all other forces and abilities like it didn't exist at all.
  • Omnipresence: Azathoth is an all-encompassing concept, it embraces with its abominable and evil "arms" all the different levels of creation, existing everywhere and nowhere at the same time, including and excluding itself. Although Yog-Sothoth is known as One-In-All and All-In-One, he is just a microscopic part of his grandfather, the true and supreme One-In-All and All-In-One. Despite being trapped in the Outerverse, Azathoth's presence is still everywhere in the Multiverse & Megaverse, even in the unknown and mysterious Abyss and even among the holy and uncorrupted Aeons of the Pleroma.
  • Nothingness Physiology: Azathoth is made up of or can transform their body completely into nothingness. He can be anatomically identical to their normal form, aside of being made of nothingness, in which case it is somewhat vulnerable to attacks. Alternately, Azathoth can transform into complete nothingness, without any part of their form being more important than the other.
    • Nothingness Manipulation: Azathoth can create, shape and manipulate nothingness, the absence of entities or substance; with this he can remove energy and matter from existence, by simply making things disappear, preventing energy from ever being conceived or via varied other means. Azathoth can control the essence of oblivion, allowing them to delete an eternity, removing targets from all lineages of time in every dimension, alter, reverse, or negate energy; etc. This could also lead to an ultimate goal of "destroying matter," as in bringing it out of existence.
      • Oblivion Embodiment: Azathoth is the physical manifestation and personification of oblivion, or Eternal Oblivion, a state of ceasing to exist, and non-existence a state of non-existence.
  • Primordial Chaos Embodiment: Azathoth is Chaos itself, the personification of the primordial state of disorder and imbalance that creation was in before God said "let there be light", when the universe was without form, and void. Azathoth is thus unpredictable and uncontrollable and can cause others to become disorderly and disorganized. He is able to change, manipulate, create and destroy anything and everything. This type of chaos is the one that gave way to Creation and Destruction, Azathoth has infinite power over Creation, Destruction and Change.
    • Void Creation: Azathoth can create true, absolute voids, spaces that are empty/absent of anything/everything that we can understand including form, shape, dimension, time, matter, energy, distance, sound, motion, concepts, etc. Because of the nature of these voids, anything that enters them may be impossible to ever escape or be rescued from and/or may even be erased from existence because of the contradictory nature or lack of life-giving elements/properties inside them.
    • Absolute Erasure: Azathoth, like his son Nyarlathotep, is able to erase a person from existence, erasing his body, spirit and soul, the soul being a microscopic and infinitely small fraction of the power of the Creator God Himself. Azathoth can erase a human being, angel or demon and even a primordial from existence and non-existence, with no trace that he existed, even in the present and future past, with no possibility or impossibility of such an entity having or not having existed, returning to entity back to the primitive state in which all things existed (or did not exist) before God created the Light - the very Void of Non-existence.
  • Anti-God: Azathoth is the pre-existential personification of evil, chaos and destruction, as well as being the personification of darkness and madness, representing everything that God is not and does not represent. While God is the All-Loving Creator who loves from the smallest bacteria to the most powerful Archangel or Arcutha, Azathoth is an omnimalevolent Destroyer, despising and rejecting everything and anything that God created, from the smallest bacteria to the mightiest arcutha, including God Himself.
    • Omnimalevolence: Azathoth is the second pre-existential personification of evil, he is corruption, filth, hatred, pain and all the negative concepts that hurt the children of God. Azathoth is not simply evil, since just as the nature of God is to be good for being good, Azathoth is evil for being evil, he is simply a being who hates everything and anything in creation, feeling apathy for nothing or anyone, not even for his children, not even by the pre-existential others or their consort. He is rejecting all that is something beyond him, some say he rejects himself, wanting to take not only creation but himself to return to the endless void of non-existence that there was before Khaos themself and Ayin.
    • Evil Embodiment: Azathoth is and can become the embodiment of evil and can manipulate everything evil, including having all evil powers and power over evil beings, places and events (Azathoth is a force of nature). Examples include using weather to destroy towns, cursing people to induce horrifying effects, physically and psychologically torturing people, inducing sins, etc. Azathtoh can also do things like shapeshifting into a chaotic monster and do almost anything as long as it ensures death, destruction or pain on the victims. Azathoth of this power is incredibly powerful because of the limitless capabilities and the fact that there is evil in almost every place. Azathoth cannot be "killed" and can exist anywhere, but their existence is far stronger in some places than others as long as the place isn't overrun by a good embodiment user.
  • True Form: Azathoth's true form is beyond the logically and illogically imaginable and unimaginable, his true form impossible to describe, for the entity that is Azathoth cannot be referred to for what he is, except for the very absence of information. It is said even the most powerful Arcutha or primordial could not look at Azathoth's true form without wanting to kill himself to avoid the suffering caused by a brief glimpse of his appearance. However, when God was asked what Azathoth looked like, God just said "his appearance is like nothingness".
    • Incarnation/Avatar Creation: Azathoth can create avatars, that is, latent bodies of his original that have a will and consciousness of their own, literally living incarnations of Azathoth himself, similar to the avatars of the Lord of All, Yesh, who was such a magnenanimous Being that His aspects and qualities had their own conscious, such as Jesus Christ or the Holy Spirit. However, the avatars of Azathoth are terrifying, evil and chaotic creatures that destroy almost everything that exists, with their sole purpose being to serve their father. One of Azathoth's avatars is Māna-Yood-Sushāī, whose power is so unfathomable that it alone has significantly surpassed the true forms of beings such as Yog-Sothoth, Nyarlathotep, and Cthulhu.
  • Lovecraftian Physiology: Azathoth is the progenitor of the Lovecraftian pantheon with all the dark and chaos entities known as the Old One coming into being because of him.
  • Possible 4th Wall Awareness: It is possible that Azathoth may be aware of his own fictional existence to some extend, though it's not confirmed. Azathoth has already implied that he is aware that he is a wiki character, with his existence being linked to the human unconscious.
  • Absolute Transcendence: Azathoth transcends absolutely anything and everything. This includes all dimensions, life/death, beginning/ending, concepts/ideas/principles, creation/destruction, boundaries, context, potential, possibilities/variables, levels of reality, existence/nonexistence, perfection/levels of perfection, embodiments, their personal status, being/non-being, etc. It may be impossible to categorize or find an exact description for he in any way as he can exist completely above and beyond all classification and definition. He is unbound and are free to defy absolutely all things; even logic itself.
    • Conceptual Transcendence: Azathoth transcends all concepts, conceptual powers, definitions/meanings and/or forms of logic, allowing him to exist in a state outside of any perspective, understanding or method of classification. This not only prevents him from being influenced or affected by conceptual powers, but it also grants him a form of total and absolute freedom, as there are no longer restrictions that bind him, as no concept can apply to him anymore.
      • Life and Death Transcendence: Azathoth can transcend the concepts of life and death. Therefore, he cannot be regarded as living, dead or even amortal, as Azathoth may have never been alive/dead at some point, making he a whole different kind of being.
      • Gender Transcendence: Azathoth is not limited to gender/sex, transcending existing genders and surpassing normal comprehension. He usually have no definition or actual characteristics representing a gender at their core, although it is generally referred to as a man, similar to God who is genderless but is more referred to as masculine.
      • Duality Transcendence: Azathoth transcends all forms of dualities; being independently and qualitatively beyond various dualism systems and their conceptual level. Beings of Transduality exists at higher levels above and beyond binary oppositions and dueling systems, making them unaffected by binary concepts, thus gaining control over those binary concepts of dualism.
  • Apocalyptic Force Manipulation: Azathoth able to control the final force, the one that causes all of existence to end. Apocalyptic force does not mean he need to necessarily destroy, just end a universal cycle making it the representation of end or omega. Azathoth can truly tamper with the end power of existence and terminate any universal cycle, creating absolute chaos.
  • Black Hole Creation: Azathoth can create black holes that can virtually suck in matter and energy. Through Gravitational Singularity, the victim will be ripped to shreds when they enter a black hole. Their body would be stretched apart to a point of compression, causing a lot of pain and suffering. When they enter into a Gravitational Singularity, they would be erased to nothingness as body molecule, matter and energy will be absorbed, causing instant death. In one of his manifestations, Azathoth literally created the biggest black hole in the universe.
  • Omninescience: Azathoth’s mind and body (if he have one) is blocked to the entire universe; he know absolutely nothing and are oblivious to effects and conditions, regardless of if they come from the past, present or future. In effect, the Azathoth's mind, upon activating this ability, becomes a black hole, a void through which no intelligence, knowledge, memory, reflex, instinct or response may escape.
  • Absolute Prime Source: Azathoth is/can become the binding source of all existence forever bound and representing the infinite cosmos in creation that binds existence together by its primordial power/energy/force, and all things that emerges from the source such as the components of reality, both physical and metaphysical all the same. Azathoth have indisputable dominion over totality, and so that as long as he exist, all that is and everything connected to all things does as well.
    • Dream Derivation: Azathoth is the source of absolute/perfect/primordial dreams in every living being everywhere, directly to cosmic/universal scales. Azathoth being the binding existence together by the force/energy of dreams. Giving the users instant and total dominion over all the powers of dreams and sleep. As long as he exist all that are dreams and everything connected to it does as well.
      • Oneiricpotence: Azathoth is almighty in every sense in his dreams, having infinite power and abilities that can elevate him to a supreme position in dream reality and superhuman in the real world. Azathoth can manipulate all forms of dreams freely and without limit be it their own or others. Azathoth can extend dreams beyond his boundaries and into the real world, making any dream have a complete impact on reality and in the user's control.
    • Absolute Force Manipulation: Azathoth can create, manipulate and shape force in all its forms, whether physical, transcendent, natural, spiritual, mental, cosmic, etc. i.e. all the absolute forces that make up the flow and nature of reality. He can turn a tornado into a gentle breeze, bring a raging tsunami to a halt, annihilate a continent simply by slamming ones palm into the earth, provided the user understands the natural forces required for continental destruction, cause a massive destruction with a simple snap of fingers and many more effects on a whim. Azathoth can bring all supernatural powers and activity in the area to a complete standstill by denying him all the force he rely upon to function.
  • The Supreme Archetype: The Supreme Archetype is the ultimate form of Azathoth, it is a transformation he obtains by merging with all the Outer Gods, Great Old Ones, Old Ones and his consort, becoming the omnipotent deity of Lovecraftian myths, the Supreme Archetype, whose same Yog-Sothoth is part. The Supreme Archetype is an all-encompassing oneness that exists as "All-in-One and One-in-All of limitless being and self," acting as the animating essence of all existence that subsumes even the "ultimate mystery" which underlies all manifested phenomena, holding even the Outerverse and its transcendent inhabitants as facets of itself, much like the rest of existence is itself comprised of fractionary aspects of Him. In this form Azathoth is the supreme God of all existence, being the ultimate creator and destroyer of everything in the universe and beyond. He is perfect, Omnipotent, without weaknesses or any flaws, being infinite, Omnipresent, Omniscient and Omnificence. Even God, Ayin and Khaos are indescribably weaker than the powers of the Supreme Archetype, whose only being that can surpass him is the Creator of the universe himself.

Equipment

  • The Creation: The Rotten Creation is a macrocosmic superstructure, monstrous in scope and essence, accidentally created by Azathoth during his mindless dream. It is universal Pandemonium, transcosmic horror, the corpse of the world on which fat worms feast, an indifferent universe in which life is a disgusting, meaningless, causeless and transient phenomenon, the only defense against the despair and suicide in which it's just ignorance of the demonic secrets he hides. While many would say that the universe is God's greatest work, for Azathoth, this blue gem that humans affectionately call home, is nothing more than an infinitesimal dust that exists within a world that is the junction of time-space, which is just an unfathomably small bubble inside a chaotic, demonic and scary world.

History

In the beginning was chaos, and chaos was Azathoth. The Universe was disordered, disorganized, confused, the elements were mixed and the colors were still colorless. Chaos was Azathoth, he is the primordial source from which all things originate. Chaos precedes the Cosmos (order), being its cause and origin, as it is the primordial "void" from which the world emerges, the origin of all and any meaning, being itself the meaninglessness.

Azathoth understands an existence beyond all time and space, for without him no space-time can arise. Reality is your mere whim, and life is a postponed death, which only exists because it once existed, but it will die as in other cycles it died for that is the law which even Azathoth obeys, and no matter how many cycles if pass, nothing has changed and will never change. He is and inhabits chaos, what has not manifested itself and the origin of all manifestation.

Azathoth formed from nothing when there was a hint of conflict and madness among the Pre-existential Entities. He is discord and madness, disorder itself.

When God tried to begin Creation, Azathoth attacked God alongside Khaos, challenging to a legendary confrontation that made the Overvoid tremble, with infinite multiverses and infinitely layered hierarchies being born and dying with every punch exchanged by the ultimate gods. God with the help of Barbelo and the Arcuthas managed to seal Azathoth and Khaos in the Outerverse.

However, Khaos and Azathoth managed to get out, forcing Yesh the most to fight the two. Yet, Khaos noticed a greater threat than the three that was the Beast Therion, and made an alliance with Yesh, trying to convince Azathoth to join them, who rejected the offer and did not care about Therion, stating that he would face and defeat him alone after killing them both, forcing God and Khaos to single-handedly defeat Azathoth and imprison him from the Outerverse.

Azathoth swore revenge for Khaos' betrayal and God's actions. After being imprisoned in the Outerverse, Azathoth felt tired from the whole battle, and decided to take a "nap", stating to his subjects that he would return to fight as soon as he woke up. Azathoth's slumber lasts for billions of years, and it is unknown how many more years he will remain asleep. All that is known is that his awakening will result in the end of the megaverse, and even praying to God might not help.

Azathoth is a character that was created by horror writer, H.P. Lovercraft. In books, he is one of the most powerful of the other gods and the primordial personification of chaos and nothingness itself, being also the destroyer of creation when he finally awakes.

There's a massive misconception in the people who claim to like Lovecraft's work but don't actually read his work. This misconception is that Azathoth dreamed reality and therefore him waking up would immediately make the material world cease to be. This untrue as within the over 100 stories Lovecraft wrote, it was never stated that Azathoth dreamed reality, instead he's more of a Galactus or Unicron type character; that when he wakes up he will immediately become such a cosmic threat that Earth would most likely be destroyed. This misconception most likely stemmed from Robert M. Price stating that the Dunsany character Māna-Yood-Sushāī (who actually does dream reality within his fictional universe) inspired Azathoth (as Lovecraft was a fan of Dunsany's work). This misconception inspired Azathoth's omnipotence with the universe of Gods and Demons wiki.

Another misconception is that Azathoth is the ancestor of every one of the other gods within the Lovecraft universe, being the father of Nyarlathotep and grandfather of Yog-Sothoth. This comes from the Selected Letters of H.P. Lovecraft 4.617 which contained a family tree for Azathoth, Nyarlathotep, Yog-Sothoth, Shub-Niggurath, Nug, Yeb, Cthulhu, and Tsathoggua; anyone else on the family tree originated from the letter itself and were made specifically for it. This ignores the fact that this letter was comedic in nature; James F. Morton had stated that he was a descendant of the Roman god Jupiter, so Lovecraft jokingly responded that only daemons preceded him, which is why Lovecraft was included in the family tree. This family tree was also never posted in anyone of Lovecrafts stories, only ever being apart of the letter. Yog-Sothoth being the grandson of Azathoth or even being weaker than him is an impossibility, as Yog-Sothoth is literally everything within Lovecraft's fictional universe (source: Through the Gates of the Silver Key) including Azathoth; as stated before, Azathoth doesn't dream reality. This family tree however has been implemented into the Gods and Demons wiki universe as well more or less.
