Dominions are, in the most basic of explaination, Guardian Angels of a country's leader, such as kings or presidents, and are responsible for guiding them toward making good decisions for their country. However, more often than not, they are tasked with the duty of guiding younger angels so they tend to abandon their post mid-work, allowing those leaders to make decisions by themselves, which almost always ended up in disaster. And now that you mention it, I haven't seen the one overseeing the US since Trump was elected. I wonder where she went?

Dominions are part of the second sphere and are said to watch over nations and regulate the duties of lesser angels.

In Moses Maimonides' hierarchy of angels according to Jewish lore, they are Hashmallim, the fourth rank of angels, and are mentioned briefly in the Hebrew version of the Book of Ezekiel. It is only with extreme rarity that the angelic lords make themselves physically known to humans. They are also the angels who preside over nations.

The Dominions are believed to look like divinely beautiful humans with a pair of feathered wings, much like the common representation of angels, but they may be distinguished from other groups by wielding orbs of light fastened to the heads of their scepters or on the pommel of their swords.
