Gods and Demons Wiki

Gaap is a powerful demon described as a Great Prince of Hell.

It is said that Gaap also provides medical care for women, transforms them to make it easier to get to a lover, renders them infertile. He used to be one of the Powers before the War in Heaven.

The sources also describe Gaap as a President, giving him the powers to teach philosophy and liberal arts, make others invisible, steal familiars from other magicians, make men stupid or apathetic, causing hate or love toward someone, and carry men between kingdoms; in addition to ruling sixty-six legions of demons.

He is often summoned to save people from the imprisonment of witches and sorcerers, and teaches the conjurer about the past, the present, and the future, as well as teaching them great musical skills and the arcane arts. In certain texts popular among ancient witches, he is said to provide health care and advices to women about beautifying themselves using both natural and supernatural means to attract others.

Gaap is also believed to be connected to necromancers, and states that he was first called upon by Noah's son Ham, along with Beleth. He was of the order of potestates.

He is said to enjoy smoking. Because of this, conjurers often prepare a cigarette or a cigar when preparing to summon him. He's often mistook by others to be a vampire, which annoyed him greatly.

Gaap is also one of the four cardinal spirits, of the south in the Lesser Key of Solomon, the west in the Pseudomonarchia Daemonum.
